I received an email from an online English teacher, though her goal is to invite me to her paid English class, but I thought at least the first part of her email is pretty good and meaningful, so I shared it here
Hi Zhong,
When I started teaching English in 2009...
The idea that I would teach almost 2,000,000 people...
...was unbelievable.
And honestly, I wasn't a good teacher when I started.
Nobody is good when they start something new.
They are bad. Sometimes terrible.
So... how did I go from being a terrible teacher...
To being one of the best in the world?
The answer is super simple:
I started.
Think about this:
Before you can do something very well...
You must do it very poorly first.
That's called LEARNING.
And when it comes to speaking English...
So many people think they should be able to speak perfectly...
The first time English words come out of their mouth...
Ha!
That's not how it works.
You have to SPEAK A LOT before you are good at it.
That's the biggest difference...
The students in our FB group and our YT channel...
They don't get enough practice to speak fluently.
They read what I write...
But they don't speak with anyone.
How are they going to speak fluently if they never speak?
...
What do you think?
